Senior Software Engineer, BigQuery, Agentic AI

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 5 years of software development experience, particularly in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) or Data Analytics. Your background includes 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and you have spent 3 years developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks. You are familiar with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture, and have experience with Generative AI and Agentic Frameworks such as LangChain and AutoGen. Your expertise extends to Backend System Design and Large-scale Distributed Systems, and you are proficient in one or more of the following languages: Java, Go, Python, or TypeScript.

In addition to your technical skills, you hold a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, which enhances your understanding of complex systems. You have experience building developer-facing products for integrated development environments (IDEs like VSCode) or Command Line Interfaces (CLI). Your familiarity with Large Language Models for code, modern cloud infrastructure, and industry-standard developer tool frameworks sets you apart. You also have a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and BigQuery, along with familiarity with machine learning concepts and Cloud services, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Google, you will be at the forefront of developing next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information. You will work on sophisticated tool-use, memory, context retrieval, and multi-step orchestration, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of orchestration at petabyte scale. Your role will involve partnering cross-functionally with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Applied Scientists, and UX Designers to define the roadmap for AI-native data journeys. You will iterate on agentic frameworks, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that enhance user experiences.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems that can handle massive amounts of data efficiently. Your work will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that the products you develop meet the needs of diverse user personas. You will also engage in rigorous evaluation processes to ensure the reliability and performance of the systems you build.
