Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Network Engineer for the Starshield project to manage and expand network infrastructure supporting national security missions. You'll work with technologies like Cisco and Linux to ensure network performance and reliability.

Who you are

You have a strong background in network engineering, with experience managing and expanding network infrastructures. You understand the complexities of network interconnections and have a keen eye for improving network performance and reliability. Your expertise in network security ensures that you can monitor and enhance the security of critical systems. You are familiar with working in high-stakes environments, particularly in sectors that require stringent security measures. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with teams to propose and implement continual improvements to network capabilities. You are detail-oriented and data-driven, using system performance metrics to inform your decisions and strategies.

Desirable

Experience with government or defense-related projects is a plus, as is familiarity with Top Secret datacenters. Knowledge of advanced networking technologies and protocols will set you apart. You are also encouraged to bring any certifications related to network engineering or security that demonstrate your commitment to the field.

What you'll do

As a Network Engineer on the Starshield team, you will be responsible for the operation, build, and deployment of the Starshield service provider network. This network supports critical national security missions, and your role will involve managing and expanding network interconnections, co-location sites, and points of presence (POPs). You will oversee network infrastructure and deployments to Top Secret datacenters, ensuring that all systems are optimized for performance and reliability. Your responsibilities will include monitoring network security and implementing improvements based on system performance metrics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design secure systems that guarantee access to space and enhance communication capabilities. Your work will directly contribute to the success of national security efforts, making your role vital to the mission of SpaceX.
