Overview

Databricks is seeking a Senior Deployment Strategist to bridge customer business challenges with technical solutions. You'll manage the non-technical lifecycle of engagements and partner with sales to define value and scope. This role requires strong product management skills and experience in stakeholder communication.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a proven track record in product management, particularly in managing complex projects that require deep understanding of customer needs and business value. Your experience includes working closely with C-suite executives, where you've built trust and effectively communicated project goals and outcomes. You possess a hands-on execution mindset, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet the defined success criteria. You are adept at scoping projects, defining Minimum Viable Products, and authoring Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) that guide engineering teams. Your ability to navigate political landscapes and manage stakeholder expectations is a key strength, allowing you to drive projects to successful completion.

You thrive in agile environments, where you can lead cross-functional teams and facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your experience includes managing project backlogs, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring that all team members are aligned on project goals. You are comfortable with both high-level strategic thinking and detailed execution, making you a versatile asset to any team. You understand the importance of capturing user feedback and iterating on solutions to ensure full adoption and satisfaction.

Desirable

Experience in the tech industry, particularly with data-driven solutions, is a plus. Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools will enhance your ability to succeed in this role. A background in sales or customer success can also be beneficial, as it will help you understand the broader context of customer engagements.

What you'll do

As a Senior Deployment Strategist at Databricks, you will act as the critical bridge between our customers' business challenges and our technical solutions. You will partner with Account Executives to perform deep discovery sessions, mapping the customer's organization and quantifying the business value of our solutions. Your role will involve defining the pilot project, including the Minimum Viable Product and success criteria, and managing the project from inception to launch.

You will take ownership of the entire non-technical lifecycle of an engagement, acting as the CEO of the project. This includes authoring the PRD, prioritizing the engineering backlog, and managing scope to ensure that the project stays on track. You will drive the FDE build team through an agile process, facilitating communication between stakeholders and resolving any technical or political issues that arise.

Your responsibilities will also include owning the Day 0 launch of the solution, managing the war room, and ensuring that the solution is fully adopted by capturing user feedback and iterating on the product as necessary. You will play a key role in ensuring that our solutions deliver the expected business value and meet customer needs.

What we offer

At Databricks, we offer a collaborative and innovative work environment where you can make a significant impact. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and be part of a team that is transforming the way businesses leverage data. We value diversity and encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Our culture promotes continuous learning and professional growth, providing you with the resources and support you need to succeed in your role.
