Job Description

Come build the future with us in the exciting EU Ecommerce Office Products industry. Amazon is looking for an experienced Senior Vendor Manager to manage some of our biggest vendors in Office Products with proven experience in strategy, execution, negotiations, innovation, and P&L management. The Senior Vendor Manager will be the owner of business relationships with some of our most strategic partners and thus plays a vital role in building and sustaining multi-year strategic relationships with external vendors, driving growth and profit strategies, advancing automation and process improvements, and anticipating and responding to industry trends.
The ideal candidate has strong negotiation skills, analytical horsepower, excellent business judgment, deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for creating a world class shopping experience for our customers. The candidate must be willing to question the status quo in order to improve existing workflows and processes to step change how we do business and delight our customers. This person will work with vendors of different sizes and represent Amazon in interactions at all levels of these organizations. Therefore, this person must have excellent communication skills and be a strong influencer to drive joint progress on goals and Amazon priorities.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, endlessly curious, analytical, detail-oriented and highly organized; comfortable with ambiguity and able to think creatively to identify and capture new opportunities. They will be a strong communicator, equally fluent working with internal partner teams, external head vendors, and Amazon leadership.

Candidates for this role should have deep experience in retail buying and vendor negotiations in particular, cross-functional collaboration, as well as strong comfort with analytics and a track record of successful data-driven decision making.

This position can be based in any Amazon EU Retail locations: London, Manchester, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Munich, Berlin. The team leader is based in Paris.


Key job responsibilities
- Act as the ‘business owner’ for assigned vendors/categories, possessing a complete understanding of the strategic context of internal and external variables that impact your business. This entails owning forecasting, monitoring, reporting on the business, along with responsibility for driving projects and promotional strategy to achieve business goals.
- Have a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and business trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments
- Lead effective negotiations with vendors to establish joint goals, improve cost structure, and sustainably grow the P&L
- Create business plans for new opportunities and develop and execute project plans for the launch of new features, incorporating merchandising and pricing strategies
- Work cross-functionally with counterparts across in-stock management, marketing, finance, Amazon programs, and retail systems to operate and grow the business
- Concisely represent your business to senior Amazon leaders through reporting, business reviews, financial planning sessions, and escalations
- Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets
- Continually improve and automate manual processes to enable you and your team to scale better as the business grows

- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Engineering or Sciences.
- 5-7 years of working experience in management consulting, vendor account management, project management, and/or buyer position.
- Strong business judgment with a track record of successful relationship management and people management skills.
- Strong analytical skills (including advanced excel and database analysis).
- Inter-personal and communication skills, negotiation skills, bias for action, ownership, project management skills and A to Z business understanding are required.
- Successful candidates will be autonomous, tenacious and creative. They will quickly adapt to work in a fast-paced environment where prioritizing and multi-tasking are essential.
- Enthusiastic and team player spirit.

- Master degree in Industrial Engineering, Management, Economics or Sciences - MBA from leading business school as a plus
- Strong commercial experience, and cross-functional experience, especially finance, marketing or supply chain
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and database work, with experience in SQL as a plus
