Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering and have spent several years leading teams in a technical environment — your experience includes managing projects that involve AI and machine learning, and you understand the intricacies of building reliable systems. You are proficient in C# and have a solid understanding of Azure, which allows you to leverage cloud capabilities effectively. Your leadership style fosters collaboration and innovation, and you are committed to elevating developer productivity through strategic initiatives.

You are passionate about AI and its applications in enhancing user experiences — you have a track record of implementing AI solutions that improve quality and reliability. You thrive in environments where you can influence the direction of technology and are comfortable navigating complex challenges. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that you can align technical goals with business objectives.

Desirable

Experience with evaluation platforms and tooling is a plus, as is familiarity with collaboration tools like OneDrive and SharePoint. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance your team's performance and the quality of the products you deliver.

What you'll do

As the Engineering Manager for the Eval Tooling team, you will lead efforts to transform how AI quality is tested and measured across OneDrive and SharePoint experiences. Your role will involve defining strategies that elevate developer productivity and enable rapid iteration on AI workloads. You will collaborate closely with Applied Science and Customer Success teams to scale customer data sets, ensuring that the solutions you develop are robust and effective.

You will also partner with other teams within Microsoft to leverage shared capabilities and contribute to the broader ecosystem. This hands-on role requires you to be technically engaged while also focusing on strategic leadership. The role offers a chance to make a significant impact on how AI is integrated into everyday tools, shaping the future of collaboration and productivity.

We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your unique perspective and skills could be just what we need to drive our mission forward.
