You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience managing software engineering teams, particularly in audio and video products. Your leadership experience spans at least 5 years, where you've successfully navigated projects and set technical direction. With 3 years of experience in audio and video processing, you are well-versed in compression codecs, transcoding, formats, and large-scale systems. You possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling you to drive cross-functional teams towards successful software deployments and error-free upgrades. Your technical expertise allows you to provide leadership on major projects while managing a team of engineers effectively.
A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred. Experience with projects like FFmpeg or large audio video libraries will set you apart. You thrive in complex, matrixed organizations and have a proven ability to build long-term maintenance automation for software systems.
As an Engineering Manager II at Google, you will lead your team in optimizing code and ensuring that engineers can optimize theirs. You will manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop your team. Your role will involve designing and driving advanced R&D to streamline product pipelines, solving ambiguous problems along the way.
