Amazon MSP (Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging) is seeking a motivated and hands-on Test Engineer to join the Design and Test team. This team is a multi-disciplinary environment of design leaders and test engineers dedicated to advancing the knowledge of automation and how millions of customer orders are fulfilled every day. The test engineer is responsible for the creation and execution of test programs, plans and methods for subsystem verification tests and complete system verification and validation tests to support new technology and product development programs. The test engineer will work with hardware, electrical and controls development engineers, technical operations and solutions engineering to define, execute and report on verification and validation tests.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for mechanical, electrical, and control systems across all stages of development.
• Perform functional, integration, and acceptance testing on automation machinery
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Identify, analyze, and resolve root causes of challenging performance issues through cross-functional collaboration and in-depth technical analysis
• Build complex software, understand complex application code
• Write clear, accurate and concise test documentation and reports to support design enhancements and continuous product improvement.
• Investigate and resolve mechanical, electrical, and controls-related faults through hands-on diagnostics and systematic debugging
• Contribute to architectural, operational, and process reviews, including post-incident analyses, to drive continuous improvement and system resilience.


About the team
The ANR10 test and design team has the key responsibility to assure the definition and implementation of an appropriate development process of mechatronic systems. This includes stakeholder's requirements elicitation, definition of the system requirement and system architecture, leading the mechatronic system design and assuring the compliance of the system functionalities with customer requirements by designing and performing design validation and system verification tests.• Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, software, Mechatronics, or Automation or similar
• Experience testing industrial automation or packaging machinery
• Proficient in systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with testing equipment, processes and standards
• Good command of English (required); Flemish/Dutch is a plus• Deep knowledge and experience on writing and execution of test processes for complex mechatronic and automation systems
• Strong knowledge of PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Beckhoff, Rockwell, Codesys) and industrial protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus)
• Good knowledge of LV & HV industrial electrical panels and related safety standards
• Experience working with the following software packages: Team center, Polarion, E-plan,
