What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the development of Oportun's data infrastructure, overseeing the entire data lifecycle from ingestion to processing and quality checks. You will design and implement ETL/ELT processes that ensure data is accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory standards. Your work will enable the analytics and data science teams to derive insights that drive business decisions and enhance customer experiences.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and business analysts, to understand their data needs and ensure that the infrastructure supports their requirements. You will also be responsible for certifying data quality and implementing best practices for data management across the organization.

As a Principal Engineer, you will mentor and guide junior engineers, helping them develop their skills and grow within the company. You will play a key role in shaping the data strategy and ensuring that Oportun remains at the forefront of data-driven decision-making in the fintech space.
