Overview

Google is seeking a Senior Strategic Negotiator for their Energy Market Development team. You'll leverage your market knowledge to negotiate agreements that support Google's infrastructure growth. This role requires 6+ years of experience in negotiation and business development.

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 6 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development initiatives. You thrive in environments characterized by ambiguity and uncertainty, and you excel at building relationships that drive success. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with strong project management abilities, enable you to navigate complex negotiations effectively.

Your deep market knowledge in the energy sector, paired with a tech-savvy approach, allows you to negotiate cost-effective solutions that support Google's infrastructure growth. You are adept at managing vendor and partner relationships, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the negotiation process. You understand the importance of presenting deal recommendations to leadership and can articulate the value of your proposals clearly and persuasively.

What you'll do

As a Strategic Negotiator on Google's Energy Market Development team, you will work behind the scenes to secure essential infrastructure for Google's future, including everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. You will collaborate with project teams to negotiate deals that not only meet immediate needs but also align with long-term strategic goals. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs, impacting every part of the business.

You will be responsible for resolving complex multi-stakeholder issues while thriving in environments characterized by ambiguity and uncertainty. Your role will involve managing clean energy policy and regulatory subject matter, focusing on electric utilities, rate design, and analysis. You will need to demonstrate success in winning desired outcomes within regulatory and legislative arenas, ensuring that Google's interests are well-represented and protected.
