You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in building and maintaining complex systems. Your expertise in Java and ASP.NET allows you to architect solutions that are both scalable and efficient. You understand the importance of code quality and are committed to championing best practices through peer-reviewed designs and code. Your experience with SQL enables you to manage and optimize databases effectively, ensuring that data integrity is maintained throughout the application lifecycle.
You are proactive in reducing technical debt, recognizing that a clean codebase is essential for long-term success. You have a collaborative mindset and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly makes you a valuable asset in discussions with stakeholders and team members alike. You are passionate about leveraging technology to improve processes and enhance user experiences.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with test automation frameworks. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies, and you thrive in environments that encourage innovation and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will architect and own significant parts of Kiavi's loan origination platform, ensuring that it meets the needs of our customers while maintaining a high quality bar. You will collaborate closely with product managers and designers to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include writing clean, maintainable code, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers to help them grow in their careers.
You will also focus on maintaining a high standard of code quality through rigorous testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. By championing test automation, you will help the team reduce manual testing efforts and improve deployment cycles. Additionally, you will allocate time to tackle engineering initiatives aimed at reducing technical debt, ensuring that the platform remains robust and adaptable to changing business needs.
As part of a remote-first team, you will have the flexibility to work from home while being encouraged to visit the Pittsburgh office up to one day a week for team collaboration and bonding. You will participate in regular team meetings to discuss project progress, share insights, and brainstorm solutions to challenges that arise.
Kiavi offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional development. You will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and collaboration, with a mission to help residential real estate investors access the capital they need to revitalize neighborhoods across the country. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your unique perspective could be just what we need to drive our mission forward.
