Google is seeking a Network Implementation Engineer to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. You'll work with various engineering teams and vendors, requiring expertise in TCP/IP and DWDM. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in network engineering and project management.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. With at least 3 years of experience in Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) or Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), you are well-versed in system design operations methodology. Your experience includes working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment. You are familiar with Layer 1 optical transmission systems, Layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, and network design or operations. Project management experience is a plus, as you will collaborate with various teams to ensure successful network implementations.
As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in executing the deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks globally. You will work closely with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors. Your objective is to facilitate faster, better, and more efficient outcomes for the business and our customers. You will be responsible for identifying potential problems in network installations, including facility power, cooling, security/access, rack layout, and cable management. Additionally, you will own network documentation, updating and maintaining network drawings and plans to ensure accuracy and compliance.
