Job Description

Who you are

You hold a PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or a Master's degree with relevant experience. You have a strong foundation in programming languages such as C++, Python, Java, or Perl, which you have used in previous projects to develop complex systems. Your background includes experience in AI, machine learning, or related areas, and you are passionate about advancing the field of artificial intelligence. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with a talented team to push the boundaries of what AI can achieve.

Desirable

Experience with large language models (LLMs) and reinforcement learning (RL) is a plus, as is familiarity with foundational models and AI agent development. You are eager to engage in high-risk, high-payoff research and are comfortable navigating the challenges that come with it. You have a track record of contributing to innovative projects and are excited about the potential of AI to redefine productivity and empowerment for users.

What you'll do

In this role, you will contribute directly to the development of AI agents, focusing on model training, dataset design, and pre- and post-training optimization. You will collaborate with a small, dedicated team to explore new methodologies and technologies that enhance AI capabilities. Your work will involve applying your programming skills to implement algorithms and optimize performance, ensuring that the AI agents you help create are effective and efficient. You will also participate in research discussions, sharing insights and findings with your team to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

You will have the autonomy to pursue your research interests while aligning with the broader goals of Amazon's AGI organization. This includes engaging in high-impact projects that leverage the latest advancements in AI and machine learning. You will be expected to stay updated on industry trends and contribute to the lab's mission of developing practical AI solutions that empower users.

You will have access to cutting-edge resources and the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the field. The company values diversity and encourages you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. You will receive a competitive compensation package, including equity and comprehensive benefits, as well as the chance to make a significant impact in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.
