Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operation Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure in Sparks, Nevada. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.
You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you understand the intricacies of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure and have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment. Your expertise in electrical systems, including three-phase electrical systems and stand-by diesel generators, allows you to ensure seamless operations that power global digital experiences. You thrive in environments where precision and reliability are paramount, and you are committed to maintaining an extraordinary uptime of 99.999%.
You possess a solid understanding of data center operations and the various systems that support them — from UPSs and PDUs to cooling systems and air handlers. Your ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers and specialists is essential, as you will be the front line in ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively. You are detail-oriented and proactive, always looking for ways to improve processes and enhance system performance.
Experience with AWS infrastructure services is a plus, as you will be supporting the operations of AWS global infrastructure. Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for mechanical systems, such as centrifugal chillers and cooling towers, will further enhance your effectiveness in this role. You are eager to learn and grow within the company, taking on new challenges as they arise.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the various systems that keep our data centers operational. You will work hands-on with electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally.
