Job Description

Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you understand the intricacies of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure and have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment. Your expertise in electrical systems, including three-phase electrical systems and stand-by diesel generators, allows you to ensure seamless operations that power global digital experiences. You thrive in environments where precision and reliability are paramount, and you are committed to maintaining an extraordinary uptime of 99.999%.

You possess a solid understanding of data center operations and the various systems that support them — from UPSs and PDUs to cooling systems and air handlers. Your ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers and specialists is essential, as you will be the front line in ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively. You are detail-oriented and proactive, always looking for ways to improve processes and enhance system performance.

Desirable

Experience with AWS infrastructure services is a plus, as you will be supporting the operations of AWS global infrastructure. Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for mechanical systems, such as centrifugal chillers and cooling towers, will further enhance your effectiveness in this role. You are eager to learn and grow within the company, taking on new challenges as they arise.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the various systems that keep our data centers operational. You will work hands-on with electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Your day-to-day tasks will include performing routine maintenance, conducting inspections, and addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner. You will collaborate closely with other technicians and engineers to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance system reliability.

You will also play a critical role in monitoring system performance and responding to alerts — your quick thinking and problem-solving skills will be essential in minimizing downtime and ensuring that our customers have continual access to the services they rely on. As part of a diverse team, you will contribute to a culture of safety and excellence, sharing knowledge and best practices with your colleagues.

What we offer

At Amazon, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive compensation, medical coverage, and opportunities for professional development. You will be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration, working on some of the most challenging problems in the industry. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — we believe that diverse teams build better products and solutions. Join us in keeping the cloud running smoothly and efficiently.
