Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on building applications across multiple platforms — your experience spans Windows, Mac, and Web environments, allowing you to create seamless user experiences. You are adept at writing secure, reliable, and scalable code, and you understand the importance of test automation and telemetry in production environments. Your leadership skills shine as you mentor engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration within your team.

You possess deep expertise in programming languages such as Java and C# — you've successfully led architectural decisions and contributed hands-on code to complex projects. Your ability to balance innovation with platform stability is crucial, as you work to enhance the M365 Copilot App, one of Microsoft's fastest-growing products. You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering with cross-functional teams to define reusable architectural patterns that enhance user experiences at scale.

Your experience includes performance profiling and cross-platform design systems — you are comfortable navigating the challenges of multi-platform development and are committed to delivering high-quality software solutions. You have a passion for mentoring and developing the technical capabilities of your team, ensuring that everyone grows and succeeds together.

Desirable

Experience with AI technologies and their application in productivity tools would be a plus, as you will be working on a product that leverages AI to transform user experiences. What you'll do

As a Principal Software Engineer for the M365 Copilot App, you will lead the design and implementation of features that enhance productivity for millions of users — your role involves taking ideas from concept through to release, ensuring that each feature is robust and user-friendly. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers to create innovative solutions that meet user needs.

You will be responsible for defining architectural patterns and techniques that enable consistent and intelligent user experiences — your insights will guide the team in making informed decisions about technology choices and implementation strategies.
