Reddit is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to support the Trust & Safety Policy team, focusing on user data policies and legal requests. This role requires experience in handling legal requests and protecting user rights.
You have a strong background in compliance and legal processes, particularly in the context of user data and privacy. Your experience includes reviewing and processing legal requests from law enforcement and government agencies, ensuring that user rights are protected while balancing legal obligations. You are detail-oriented and capable of crafting strategies and policies that align with both legal requirements and the values of the organization. You understand the importance of trust and safety in online communities and are committed to upholding these principles in your work.
Experience in a tech or internet company is a plus, as is familiarity with global data protection regulations. You have a proactive approach to problem-solving and are comfortable working with cross-functional teams to implement compliance strategies effectively. Your communication skills are strong, allowing you to articulate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders clearly.
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing legal requests for user account information from U.S. and global law enforcement agencies. You will collaborate with the Trust & Safety Policy team to develop and implement policies that protect user privacy and due process. Your work will involve analyzing legal requests, determining appropriate responses, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will also support distributed teammates around the world, providing guidance on compliance matters and helping to foster a culture of trust and safety within the organization.
You will participate in the development of workflows necessary for handling global legal requests and contribute to child safety initiatives. Your insights will help shape the strategies that Reddit employs to navigate the complex landscape of user data protection while maintaining the integrity of the platform. You will be an advocate for user rights, ensuring that all actions taken by the company are defensible and aligned with its mission.
