Google is seeking a Network Engineer for their Edge Network Operations team to provide operational support for Google Cloud Platform customers. You'll work with network routing protocols and programming languages like C++, Go, and Python. This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1 year of relevant experience.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent practical experience. With at least 1 year of experience under your belt, you are familiar with network routing protocols, design, and troubleshooting, particularly with network equipment providers. You have experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python, which you have utilized in practical scenarios. Your understanding of network design is a plus, and you are eager to contribute to a team that operates a network serving millions of users worldwide.
As a member of Google's Network Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of network operations. You will monitor network performance, coordinate planned maintenance, and respond to network connectivity issues, ensuring that our systems run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include validating and testing customer configurations in an interop lab environment, as well as providing high-touch operational support for Google Cloud Platform customers. You will assist customers in resolving issues with network services and troubleshooting connectivity and performance problems. Additionally, you will write workflow automation to enhance the customer experience, contributing to the continuous improvement of our network operations.
Google offers a competitive salary range for this full-time position, with a base salary between $113,000 and $161,000, along with bonuses, equity, and benefits. You will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and collaboration, working on a network that is critical to connecting users with Google's suite of applications, products, and services.
