Amazon Security OpRes is a team of Security Engineers and Software Development Engineers dedicated to enhancing security incident response through automation and innovation. Our mission involves optimizing existing processes while pioneering new solutions that significantly enhance Amazon's security posture.. We maintain and improve production services, design advanced capabilities to streamline incident response workflows. Simultaneously, we undertake long-term innovation projects, working backwards from customer needs, analyzing data, and prototyping disruptive solutions with leadership oversight.

You are a Security Engineer who thrives on delivering innovative solutions to complex security challenges. Your passion lies in building scalable, high-quality capabilities that fortify Amazon's security posture and safeguard our customers' environments. Your work will focus on identifying, mitigating, and remediating security issues for systems and services. You will balance pragmatic solutions with long-term security goals, often working independently on large-scale security events. Your expertise in security and risk assessment will be crucial as you enable teams to protect our customers effectively. Join us to proactively solve security problems, improve our security posture, and shape AWS's security landscape.- BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, (or) 5+ years’ equivalent technology experience
- 2+ years experience building scalable incident response utilities and tools for internal use that enable your fellow Security Engineers to operate at high speed and wide scale
- 3 years’ experience with focus in areas such as systems, network, and/or application security
- 2+ years experience with web protocols and Linux/Unix tools and architecture
- 2+ years experience in host, network and application security
- 2+ years experience building automated tools in any of these languages: C, C++, Python, Perl, and/or Ruby- A MS degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or 5+ years’ equivalent technology experience.
- A high degree of organization and be very detail-oriented. Must be able to interact with and influence people at all levels.
- Previous experience on a Security Response team, or experience coordinating responses to security incidents autonomously utilizing excellent project management skills.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies, familiarity with AWS services is highly valued in particular
- Strong knowledge of web protocols and an in-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix tools and architecture
- Well-rounded background in host, network and application security
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical individuals up to executive level.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment. A high degree of organization.

- Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
- Familiarity with Cloud Environment and architecture.
