Stripe is seeking an Employment Counsel to provide legal advice on employment issues and ensure compliance with best practices. This role requires 5-10 years of employment law experience and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment.
You have 5-10 years of employment law experience at a leading law firm or in-house, demonstrating a strong understanding of employment-related legal issues. You are adept at providing day-to-day legal advice on various employment matters, including recruiting, hiring, performance management, and employee data privacy. Your ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism is essential. You are decisive, with excellent judgment, capable of making smart decisions in the face of ambiguity and imperfect information. You are passionate about Stripe's mission of helping businesses grow and thrive, and you are willing to pitch in where needed in a fast-paced, growing company.
While not required, experience with internal investigations and a strong understanding of HR best practices will be beneficial. Familiarity with global employment laws and regulations is a plus, as is the ability to support cross-functional teams on strategic global projects.
In this role, you will partner with the People team to provide legal advice on a range of employment issues, ensuring compliance with legal standards and best practices. You will proactively review employment policies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain employment compliance. Your responsibilities will include advising on performance management, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence, and internal investigations. You will also support cross-functional stakeholders on various strategic global projects, ensuring that employment practices align with Stripe's mission and values. Your expertise will help mitigate potential employment-related risks and foster a positive work environment.
