Basis AI is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to develop and optimize ML systems for their AI Accountant. You'll work with Python and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch to bring intelligence into production. This role is open to all experience levels.
You are an engineer with a strong foundation in machine learning principles and practices — you understand how to build and optimize systems that can read documents and reason over context. You have experience with Python and are familiar with frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, enabling you to implement and experiment with various ML models effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside product and accounting experts to create systems that are not only functional but also continuously learning and improving. You are comfortable taking ownership of projects, from scoping to delivery, and you enjoy the challenge of defining success metrics and running experiments to validate your work. You are eager to push the boundaries of what is possible with AI and are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing company.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with data retrieval and orchestration tools. You may also have a background in software engineering, which helps you write clear and maintainable code that integrates seamlessly with existing systems.
