Robinhood’s Crypto engineering builds the end-to-end platform for trading, custody, and on-chain operations that power our crypto experience — from pre-trade flows to execution and post-trade lifecycle.

• Focus areas: trading experiences, custody/wallets, blockchain integrations, reliability and safety at scale.

• Impact: ship secure, high-availability systems that handle real-time orders, balances, settlements, and notifications for millions of customers.

Brokerage

Brokerage engineering powers core investing across asset classes and the mission‑critical systems behind it — including trading experiences, clearing, books and records, tax, and regulatory reporting.

• Focus areas: execution and routing, market connectivity, post-trade operations, and investor insights — all built for speed, accuracy, and trust.

• Impact: own the ledger and reporting pipelines that keep the platform compliant and customers confident.

Core Engineering

Core Engineering provides the shared platforms that enable every product team at Robinhood to move fast safely, spanning Platforms & Payments and Activations

• Focus areas: cloud infrastructure, developer experience, reliability, data platforms, and payments foundations.

• Impact: multiply product velocity while raising the bar on performance, resilience, and quality across the company.

What you’ll do

• Build scalable systems and components, making the right tradeoffs to account for stability and long-term maintainability.
• Design, write, test, and release product-facing features with stringent correctness and scalability requirements.
• Collaborate with our frontend and data teams to fine tune our REST APIs supporting millions of customers.
• Mentor junior developers on the team and lead project of large complexity
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, team productivity and reduce risk

What you bring

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years experience writing low latency, large scale distributed systems 
• Familiarity with writing highly concurrent systems and good intuition for REST API design.
• Proven experience working on large projects with long-term impact on a single system or team.
• Strong technical grasp with excellent judgment on task prioritizations.
• Ability to solve complex engineering problems that deliver results aligned with team objectives.
• Ability to mentor junior developers and lead the team technically on new initiatives and system improvements
