Job Description

The goal of Amazon Logistics is to build a world class last mile delivery operation. Amazon aims to exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that their orders are delivered quickly, accurately, and in the most cost effective way possible.

Central Operations (CO) refers to a new approach within Amazon Logistics (AMZL) to define a scalable solution to run the increasingly complex and growing last mile delivery network. CO is a key strategic initiative with a vision to transform the way AMZL executes forecasting, route planning, demand scheduling and last mile delivery.

We are looking for a Operations Manager with a track record of operational excellence to drive scalability, ensuring strong processes and culture are developed. This person will be able to lead a team that operates in areas of the business with a high degree of ambiguity that require a great deal of thought leadership. The role will provide opportunities to think big, develop original ideas, and partner with AMZL Planning, Transportation, Last Mile Tech, Operations and business expansion teams to develop a strategic approach to scale Central Operations.

As a EU CO Intraweek Capacity Manager, you be responsible for intraweek capacity process across EU to capacity optimization on day to day operations and lead projects for EU CO. The role will provide opportunities to think big, develop original ideas, and partner with multiple teams as Planning, Transportation, Tech, Operations and business expansion teams to develop a strategic approach to scale Central Operations.

As a EU CO Intraweek Manager, you will work with a team of Managers and Logistics Associates to drive performance on day to day operations and projects for EU CO. Your role will be to focus on key KPIs in terms of forecast accuracy, capacity utilization and process adherence/improvement playing a key role in deliverables to Amazon Last Mile business.

We’re looking for creative leaders with a passion for innovation, knack for problem solving, and dedication to creating world-class customer experiences.

You will be be accountable for daily, weekly and monthly KPIs and metrics. You will be responsible for driving program scoping, roll out and compliance/monitoring and stakeholder experience. In addition, you will be instrumental in developing best practices and standard work for the network.

You will play a proactive role in written and verbal communication with various departments, as you maintain Amazon’s exceptionally high levels of service, both for our customers and suppliers, facilitating the flow of information between different stakeholders and resolving any potential issues that impact business continuity. We need you to step back at strategic intervals to take in the bigger picture and to be comfortable conducting research into process improvement initiatives and taking real-time decisions. You will also maintain and report up to date and accurate statistics, management reports and analysis.

Experience with planning, standard work practices, and performance metrics.
Strong logical thinking, analytical skills, and problem solving skills.
Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands such as weekends and public holidays
Intermediate working knowledge of Excel
Experience leading teams.
Capable of providing direction to team members using independent judgment.
Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) across various levels of an organization.
Fluent in oral and written communication in English
Organization and time management skills.

- Advanced or master's degree
- Relevant experience scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through: Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma
- Relevant experience working in a supply chain, logistics, or operations environment
- Relevant experience in conceptualizing and implementing operational or supply-chain management improvements
- Relevant experience in analysing data and creating reports for leadership
- Relevant experience working with Structured Query Language (SQL), MS Office Suite (Excel, Word), Tableau or Python.
