Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Controls Technician for the Starship Tower on the night shift. You'll be responsible for adjusting, repairing, and maintaining ground hardware and test equipment. This role requires 2+ years of experience in a technical capacity.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 2 years of experience as a mechanic, technician, or construction worker. You are comfortable reading and interpreting planning documents, schematics, datasheets, manuals, drawings, blueprints, and engineering sketches. Your hands-on experience includes using power tools in a professional capacity, and you have a strong understanding of electrical systems and components.

You are detail-oriented and possess strong troubleshooting skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with launch engineers to resolve issues that arise during launch activities. Your ability to adjust, repair, or replace faulty components of ground hardware and test equipment is complemented by your experience in fabricating and installing parts and systems used in launch environments.

Desirable

You have 3+ years of experience using power tools in a professional capacity and ideally possess knowledge of pressure transducers, thermocouples, and other sensors. Your familiarity with wiring of electronics racks and junction boxes will be beneficial in this role. You are proactive in performing maintenance tasks across various roles, ensuring the operational integrity of the launch site.

What you'll do

As a Controls Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting various technical documents to ensure the proper functioning of ground support equipment. You will adjust, repair, or replace faulty components, ensuring that all systems are operational and ready for launch. Your role will involve fabricating and installing parts and systems using hand tools and power tools, as well as connecting and verifying sensors and transducers.

You will collaborate closely with launch engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues that arise during launch activities, ensuring that all equipment meets the necessary specifications. Your responsibilities will also include completing the necessary wiring of electrical ground support equipment and performing maintenance tasks as required across various roles, including vehicle integration and site preventative maintenance.
