SpaceX is seeking a Dynamics Engineer to support the Falcon and Dragon vehicles through dynamic and vibration analyses. You'll utilize skills in MATLAB, Python, and C++ to resolve complex dynamics problems. This role is based in Hawthorne, CA.
You have a strong background in dynamics and vibration analysis, with a solid understanding of dynamic systems and a broad range of engineering disciplines. Your experience includes using MATLAB and Python for simulations and analyses, and you are proficient in C++ for software programming. You possess analytical skills that allow you to resolve complex dynamics problems through hand calculations, analysis, and tests. You are comfortable working with flight data and have a keen intuition for interpreting results. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute to innovative aerospace projects. You understand the importance of hardware qualification for flight and are committed to ensuring the highest standards in your work.
Experience with structural dynamics, flight data review, and engine dynamics is a plus. Familiarity with Linux environments and software development practices will enhance your contributions to the team.
As a Dynamics Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for conducting dynamic and vibration analyses on the Falcon and Dragon vehicles. You will resolve dynamics problems through hand calculations, analysis, and tests, utilizing extensive flight data to inform your decisions. Your role will involve developing forcing functions and predicting vehicle responses to ensure hardware is qualified for flight. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the Falcon launch vehicle and America’s human spaceflight program. Your work will include model and analysis correlation, as well as assessing fairing and launch pad acoustics. You will also engage in software programming for tool development, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the dynamics analyses.
