Overview

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to oversee EHS site management for the construction of Cape Canaveral's Starship spaceport infrastructure. This role requires expertise in environmental and occupational safety.

Who you are

You are an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Engineer with a strong background in both environmental and occupational safety fields. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are hands-on in your approach to managing safety programs. Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively ensures that safety protocols are understood and followed by all team members and contractors. You have a keen eye for detail and are skilled in conducting hazard identification inspections to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.

You possess a proactive mindset, always looking for ways to improve safety practices and enhance the overall safety culture within the organization. Your experience in construction environments equips you with the knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of EHS management in high-impact projects. You are a team player who collaborates effectively with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace or construction industry is a plus, as is familiarity with regulatory requirements specific to these sectors. You may also have certifications related to environmental health and safety, which further demonstrate your commitment to the field.

What you'll do

In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day EHS site management for the construction of SpaceX's launch facility at Cape Canaveral. Your responsibilities will include implementing and enforcing the EHS management program for contractors and subcontractors, ensuring that all safety requirements are understood and adhered to. You will conduct regular inspections of facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

You will develop and maintain documented safety observations from these inspections, providing clear feedback to contractors and team members. Your role will also involve training and educating staff on safety protocols and best practices, fostering a culture of safety awareness throughout the project. You will collaborate closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of the construction process.
