Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. With 15 years of experience managing engineering teams, you have a proven track record in recruiting and building software development teams in India. Your expertise includes deploying ERP systems for enterprises, particularly with SAP for large enterprises. You possess domain experience in finance, first-party application development, application support, machine learning, and large-scale distributed systems.

You are a strong advocate for team culture and collaboration, leading initiatives that foster a vibrant work environment. Your leadership style emphasizes coaching and developing your engineering team, ensuring they thrive in their roles. You understand the importance of cross-team collaboration and are skilled at organizing events that facilitate this.

Desirable

Experience in enterprise software development and deployment is a plus, as is familiarity with finance-related applications. You are comfortable evaluating third-party products and making informed build/buy decisions for solutions. Your ability to lead a diverse team of Application Engineers, Business Systems Analysts, Software Engineers, and Program Managers is essential for success in this role.

What you'll do

As the Director of Application Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a talented team that supports multiple finance functions, including IT asset management, payroll, and Finance Works (FinCore). You will oversee the configuration, implementation, and support of various SAP modules and applications, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization. Your role will involve managing the site for new projects, where you will lead initiatives that enhance team collaboration and performance.

You will be tasked with hiring, coaching, and developing your engineering team, creating a culture that encourages innovation and excellence. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving the success of the Corporate Engineering (CorpEng) team, as you work closely with various departments to implement enablement technologies for Google's workforce.

In addition to managing your team, you will evaluate third-party products and participate in build/buy decisions, ensuring that the solutions you implement align with the organization's goals. You will also lead efforts to organize events that promote cross-team collaboration, fostering a sense of community within the site and across the CorpEng organization.
