Handshake is seeking First-Line Supervisors of Construction Trades and Extraction Workers to contribute to an AI training project. You'll leverage your professional experience to evaluate AI models and provide feedback. No AI experience is required for this contract role.
You have at least 4 years of professional experience in construction trades or extraction work, which gives you the context needed to evaluate and train AI models effectively. Your expertise will help shape AI tools designed to enhance the skills of the next generation of workers in your field. You are comfortable working independently and can manage your time flexibly, averaging 5-20 hours per week. You are open to learning new skills and contributing to the development of AI applications that reflect real-world tasks and language.
Experience in evaluating work quality and providing structured feedback will be beneficial. Familiarity with AI concepts, while not required, may enhance your contributions to the project. You are proactive and willing to engage with new technologies that can improve your field of work.
In this role, you will participate in an AI research project by developing prompts that accurately reflect your field's tasks. You will evaluate the responses generated by AI models and provide clear, structured feedback to improve their understanding of workplace language and tasks. Your insights will be crucial in ensuring that AI tools are relevant and effective for skilled trades. You will work asynchronously, allowing you to fit this role into your existing commitments.
