Job Description

At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. Amazon Last Mile Tech (LMT) drives automations and optimizations of Amazon’s last leg deliveries, supporting delivery of more than ten billion packages. The Maps and Geospatial organization within LMT is responsible for building tools and technologies that curate high-fidelity geospatial big datasets (like maps, addresses, and locations) which model the real world, and leverages it to hone the navigation experience of last mile delivery drivers through real-time path finding, maneuver instruction generation and intuitive visual map displays.

The Geospatial Finance Manager will partner with World Wide (WW) Last Mile technology teams as we build best in class OTR tech solves to improve AMZL's speed, quality and cost structure. Day to day responsibilities include modeling financial entitlements, measuring the impact of project launches, managing an ~$50MM software and data budget, and partnering across Last Mile Tech Finance teams.

This role is more than finance: it requires ability to invent, go beyond the standard business rules to “experiment” and “conceive” together with the business partners to find financial sustainable solutions to scale across the world. This role is strategic in nature (business partnering skills and curiosity are a must!), and is not a typical Finance role. If you're interested in learning about and shaping the technology used to power Amazon's deliveries and thrive in complex, ambiguous environments - this may be the role for you!

As a member of a growing team, you will deal with a high level of ambiguity and changing priorities. The successful candidate will maneuver through the ambiguity, communicate effectively across teams and levels, while balancing the needs and requirements of internal and external customers. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize in a changing business environment will also be key.

Key job responsibilities
- Partners across Operations and Last Mile Tech Business to develop reporting and analyses that provides insight on company performance for stakeholders across 10+ countries
- Collaborates with senior leaders including L8s on product/project roadmap based on financial and operational efficiency improvements
- Assists in investment planning by building financial models to evaluate metrics like ROI/NPV for new products and science initiatives to make investment recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon.
- Uses financial systems and advanced MSExcel functions to work with large data sets. Outputs plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.
- Identifies and implements solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes
- Builds business cases for launching multiple technology features across teams for tech features/product launches
- Makes thoughtful time management decisions independently. Prioritizes work, resolves issues, meets deadlines, and seeks feedback from your manager. Discerns between urgent and non-urgent issues and acts accordingly to solve them
- Drives own self-development in the Finance Community: seeks opportunities to expand finance expertise.
- Contributes to work life harmony by being a positive, collaborative, and effective influencer to new team members as an indicator of operations excellence- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience- MBA
- 3+ years' relevant experience in positions partnering engineering and/or science teams as finance partner
- Demonstrated ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital
- Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and senior levels of management
- Demonstrated ability to manage and achieve effective results in an ambiguous environment
