The Exploration Company is seeking a Future Projects Flight Software Engineer to develop and test critical software for lunar lander projects. You'll work with C, C++, and Python to ensure seamless integration of software systems. This role requires 3+ years of experience in aerospace or complex systems.
You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. With over 3 years of experience in developing software architectures for aerospace or similar complex systems, you have a strong foundation in software development principles. Your expertise includes programming in C and C++, and you are comfortable working with Embedded Linux environments. You are proficient in Python, which you use for scripting and automation tasks. You have a collaborative mindset and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. You are detail-oriented and take pride in writing clean, maintainable code, as well as developing comprehensive unit tests to ensure software reliability. You are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of technology in the aerospace sector.
In your role as a Future Projects Flight Software Engineer, you will take ownership of the software architecture, components, and interfaces for our lunar lander projects. You will be responsible for defining and managing the requirements for the software sub-system, ensuring that all specifications are met. Your day-to-day tasks will include implementing flight software modules and writing clean unit tests to validate functionality. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as Avionics, GNC, and Propulsion, to ensure seamless integration of the software into the overall test framework. You will actively participate in system-level tests and provide support for troubleshooting and resolving integration issues. Your contributions will be critical in advancing our mission to develop a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle. You will work closely with the Principal Engineer and other team members to drive the success of the Future Projects team.
