You have a strong background in software engineering, with experience in developing and maintaining systems that support iterative development, testing, and deployment. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to specify and implement requirements for availability, performance, correctness, and efficiency.

You have a proactive mindset, capable of monitoring systems to identify issues and anomalies. You understand the importance of implementing fault-tolerant and resilient design patterns to ensure system reliability. Your experience includes building and maintaining automation tools that streamline repetitive tasks, enhancing overall system performance.

You are familiar with continuous integration pipelines and testing infrastructure, and you have a solid understanding of security practices in software development. You are ready to participate in an on-call rotation to respond to critical incidents, ensuring 24/7 system availability.

Desirable

Experience with cloud infrastructure and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with modern software development methodologies. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and practices that can enhance the development cycle.

What you'll do

In this role, you will develop and maintain software systems that support OpenAI’s build system and infrastructure. You will design and implement continuous integration pipelines and testing infrastructure, ensuring that the development process is efficient and effective. Your work will focus on enhancing the scalability and performance of the infrastructure, addressing the needs of a rapidly growing user base.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, specifying and implementing requirements that ensure the systems are available, performant, and correct. Your proactive monitoring of systems will help identify issues before they escalate, allowing you to implement solutions that maintain system reliability.

You will build and maintain automation tools that streamline repetitive tasks, improving the overall efficiency of the development process. Your participation in an on-call rotation will be crucial for responding to critical incidents, ensuring that systems remain available and performant at all times.
