Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Test Engineer for the Starship team to develop testing procedures and tools for the Starship Vehicle. You'll work with propulsion and avionics systems to ensure vehicle health before launch. This role requires expertise in ground/test software and integrated testing.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in testing and integration, with experience in developing procedures and tools for system testing. You understand the complexities of vehicle avionics and propulsion architecture, and you are skilled in establishing test criteria and pass/fail requirements for integrated vehicle checkouts. You are adept at troubleshooting hardware issues in real-time and providing feedback to eliminate repeat problems. Your ability to drive improvements in testing efficiency and safety is a key asset.

What you'll do

As a Test Engineer on the Starship team, you will be responsible for all initial system testing of the Starship Vehicle. You will develop a deep understanding of the vehicle's integrated systems and establish the necessary test criteria for successful checkouts. Your role will involve creating procedures for the validation of rapidly evolving spacecraft, ensuring that assembly areas execute checkouts seamlessly. You will also identify and implement improvements to enhance testing efficiency and safety, while troubleshooting hardware issues as they arise. Your expertise will serve as a technical resource for build engineers, specialists, and technicians throughout the testing process.
