Job Description

As a Senior Strategic Supply Chain Manager for US Pets, you will be at the forefront of strategic planning, execution, and optimization of Amazon's supply chain operations. In this influential role, you will lead high-impact projects and collaborate cross-functionally to drive business growth and deliver an exceptional customer experience for pet parents. This position will work to continuously optimize operational metrics by working on strategic supply chain initiatives for Pets and Consumables. The Senior Strategic Supply Chain Manager serves as a key point of contact between Retail, internal supply chain partner teams, and Vendors. The person contributes to GL-level operational strategy, annual negotiations, and opportunities to reduce cost and waste in the supply chain.

The successful candidate must be highly organized, self-starting, and possess strong data extraction and analytical capabilities. They must have proven successes in driving operational initiatives and demonstrate passion for the customer experience. They must be focused and thoughtful in their pursuit of results and thrive in a high energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel.

Strong candidates will have hands-on operations or inventory management experience and knowledge in fundamental business principles. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to succeed in efficiently managing a large catalog selection, identifying problems/finding solutions, and building/improving processes. The ideal candidate is able to lead and influence both internal and external teams in an ambiguous environment while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy.

Key job responsibilities
-Identifying and delivering end-to-end supply chain improvement opportunities across large cohorts of vendors
-Monitoring, analyzing, and owning category Key Performance Indicators such as: out of stock, lead time, and confirmation rates; presenting insights, themes and trends to Senior Leadership team
-Strategically analyzing production and delivery lead-times, while optimizing operational excellence inputs such as EDI adoption, PO confirmations, efficient receive processes, and inventory placement
-Spearheading initiatives to enhance cost structure and profitability, collaborating closely with partner teams to ensure successful execution
-Leading doc-writing for XBRs and cross-GL Consumables supply chain initiatives
-Taking on SMEships that impact not just Pets, but all of Consumables

We drive business growth and innovation related to the online sale of everything from dog food to diapers to razors to raisins. Our teams ensure vast product selection and create trusted, convenient shopping experiences.- 5+ years of with Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience working with complex data sets
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership- Knowledge of statistics or other analytical techniques
- Experience with SQL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
