The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging Experiences software team is seeking technically skilled and curious engineers to join our diverse, full-stack team. As an SDE, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying intelligent packaging deterministic workflows, LLM/ML powered platforms, and large-scale solutions for our world-wide customer base. You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of product leaders, principals, and ML scientists to influence our overall packaging roadmap to support Climate Pledge and Sustainability goals, reduce waste and cost, and help define our technical strategy. You will also drive the system architecture, spearhead best practices that enable quality, and help coach and develop junior engineers. A successful candidate will have an established background in engineering large scale software systems, strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
In addition to holistically designing, building, and delivering end-to-end software systems, our team is responsible for core infrastructure, production services and tools that serve as the backbone of our packaging engines, and applications that support packaging test labs, Fulfillment Centers and field personnel.
Key job responsibilities
We are seeking a software engineer to be part of our team to build Packaging Technology Workflows and Optimization with Machine Learning (ML) on a global scale, own their systems end to end, and influence the direction of technology used by all Amazon Fulfillment and Packaging services around the world. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive mission critical projects, work with senior and principal engineers, and lead team members. - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
