Datadog is hiring a Strategic Account Executive to target and close new business with large, strategic customers. You'll focus on understanding customer pain points in cloud environments and delivering tailored solutions. This role requires 5+ years of closing experience and a proven track record in sales.

Job Description

Who you are

You have over 5 years of closing experience, with a mix of field selling within mid-market and enterprise environments. You are driven and have consistently met or exceeded direct sales goals of $1M+, managing an average deal size of $100k+. Your ability to prospect effectively and maintain relationships with key stakeholders is a testament to your sales methodology. You possess a deep understanding of customer business needs and can navigate complex negotiations to secure favorable pricing and business terms. Resourcefulness is one of your strengths, allowing you to tackle challenges that require innovative solutions. You have an intuitive sense of the necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation, ensuring high forecasting accuracy and consistency.

What you'll do

In this role, you will prospect into large Fortune 1000 companies, running an efficient sales process that targets and closes new business. You will maintain, build, and own specific relationship maps for your territory, which includes existing relationships and aspirational contacts. Developing a deep comprehension of your customers' businesses will be crucial as you identify their pain points and deliver appropriate Datadog solutions. You will negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large commercial enterprises, emphasizing the value and ROI of Datadog's offerings. Handling existing customer expectations while expanding your reach and depth into your assigned territory will be part of your daily responsibilities. You will demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges that defy easy solutions, ensuring that you can adapt and find effective paths forward. Your role will also involve ensuring high forecasting accuracy and consistency, which is vital for the success of the sales process.
