Apple is hiring a Senior Camera Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop features for image sensors and peripherals. You'll work with C and C++ in a multi-threaded RTOS environment. This role requires 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
You have a BS degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, showcasing your deep expertise in embedded systems and software development. Your proficiency in programming, debugging, and designing within multi-threaded RTOS environments sets you apart as a candidate. You are skilled in C and C++ programming, with a strong background in developing software for device drivers, including peripherals and controllers such as I2C, SPI, GPIOs, MIPI, and DMA. Your experience extends to developing software for sensing and actuator devices, demonstrating your ability to work with complex hardware components.
You have a passion for working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Sensor Hardware, Silicon Design, and Machine Learning Algorithm teams. Your ability to shape the roadmap for future Apple products is a testament to your innovative mindset and technical acumen.
In this role, you will be part of Apple's Camera/ISP Firmware team, where you will explore, develop, and ship state-of-the-art technologies for Apple products. You will design and develop features for image sensors and peripheral devices, contributing to the latest image processing pipeline on Apple products. Your responsibilities will include controlling camera peripherals such as image sensors, voice-coil motors (VCMs), lens actuators, LED strobes, and power management units (PMUs). You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with various teams, including Silicon Design, EE, and System/Controls, to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
You will define the way Apple develops, tests, and manufactures its products, making a significant impact on the overall product development process. Your role will require you to stay updated with the latest advancements in camera technology and image processing, allowing you to contribute innovative solutions that enhance user experience across the iOS and VisionPro product family. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to device drivers and ensuring optimal performance of camera systems.
