Key job responsibilities
As a SDE-2 on the team, you will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, development and launch of product features for data products. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product. You should continually focus on operational excellence, constructively identifying re-occurring problems and proposing solutions for them.
The ideal candidate is passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrated track record of success in their ability to solve difficult problems that contain visible risks or roadblocks. This person should be effective communicators and able to represent the team independently with stakeholders and peer teams. A successful candidate will have an established background in building large-scale distributed systems, strong technical skills, a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

Foundational Data Services (FDS) designs, builds, and maintains a petabyte-scale data lake and a modern data mesh that forms the foundation of data-driven innovation for Finance operations at Amazon. This platform supports hundreds of teams across engineering, science, and business intelligence, enabling them to unlock the full potential of machine learning and advanced analytics. Our mission is to empower FinOps through seamless access to data by delivering a comprehensive suite of solutions focused on efficient data ingestion and storage, strong data governance, and dependable data delivery. - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
