Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building scalable and reliable systems. Your background includes working with cloud technologies and you have a strong understanding of observability principles. You are proficient in programming languages such as Python and Java, and you have experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

You thrive in a remote-first environment and are comfortable collaborating with distributed teams. Your communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are passionate about open-source technologies and have a track record of contributing to or utilizing them in your projects.

Desirable

Experience with Grafana or similar visualization tools is a plus. Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other relational databases will help you in this role. You may also have experience with monitoring and logging frameworks, which will be beneficial for enhancing the observability stack.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform InfraCore team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing features that enhance the Grafana Cloud platform. You will work on processing and storing millions of metrics, logs, and traces, ensuring high availability and low latency. Your role will involve collaborating with product managers and other engineers to define requirements and deliver impactful solutions.

You will also participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to your peers while continuously improving your own coding practices. Your expertise will guide the team in adopting best practices for software development, including testing strategies and deployment processes. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their careers.
