Formlabs is seeking a Senior NPI Manufacturing Engineer to design and manage assembly processes for innovative 3D printing technology. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency. This role requires experience in manufacturing engineering and process optimization.
You have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in developing and optimizing assembly processes. Your expertise includes creating line layouts and standard operating procedures that enhance production efficiency. You are skilled in analyzing production lines and implementing calibration checks to ensure quality and adherence to design specifications. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with mechanical design, electrical, and materials teams to drive innovation in manufacturing. Your problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex challenges in the production process, and you are passionate about improving manufacturing workflows.
Experience with 3D printing technology or related fields is a plus. Familiarity with tools for process simulation and optimization will help you excel in this role. You are comfortable using data analysis to inform your decisions and improve manufacturing outcomes. A background in project management will also be beneficial as you lead initiatives to enhance assembly processes.
In this role, you will create and manage line layouts for complex assemblies, breaking down processes into logical parts flows. You will define and develop initial prototype lines for module and system-level assembly, ensuring that all equipment requirements are met. Your responsibilities will include establishing calibration and assembly checks throughout the assembly process to catch failures early and maintain high-quality standards. You will analyze production lines to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key as you work to design new assembly processes and layouts, as well as develop and deploy custom tooling and calibration equipment. You will also be involved in training team members on new processes and ensuring that best practices are followed across the manufacturing team.
At Formlabs, we offer a competitive salary range of $120,000—$150,000 USD, along with equity in the form of RSUs.
