Reflection is seeking a Strategic Finance Associate to refine financial models and support strategic-level decisions. You'll work closely with leadership and external parties, leveraging your financial modeling expertise. This role requires 2-5 years of experience in finance or consulting.
You have 2-5 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance at a high-growth startup — you understand the nuances of financial modeling and have a strong grasp of accounting principles. Your analytical skills are exceptional, allowing you to conduct financial analyses that support strategic-level decisions, such as partnership structuring and vendor contract negotiations.
You are comfortable being both strategic and operational — you can think critically about capital allocation decisions while also managing the day-to-day operational processes that keep the finance function running smoothly. Your experience has equipped you with the ability to negotiate and manage vendor contracts effectively, ensuring that the organization’s research and operations are well-supported.
You possess a deep understanding of financial governance and administration — you are adept at managing employee expense programs and accounts payable across multiple entities, including the US and UK. Your organizational skills enable you to run cash positioning and treasury reporting efficiently, ensuring that financial operations are aligned with the company’s growth trajectory.
You are proactive in setting up and administering finance tooling — you understand the importance of having the right tools in place to scale financial operations as the organization grows. Your ability to coordinate with outsourced partners for monthly close and bookkeeping is a testament to your collaborative nature and commitment to excellence.
Experience in a high-growth startup environment is a plus, as is familiarity with finance tooling that enhances operational efficiency. You are a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the overall success of the organization.
In this role, you will own and refine the financial model and forecasts for both leadership and external parties, including investors. Your insights will be crucial in shaping the financial strategy of the organization. You will also be responsible for negotiating and managing new vendor contracts that support various departments, including research and go-to-market strategies.
You will conduct financial analyses that inform strategic-level decisions, such as partnership structuring and designing incentives for go-to-market initiatives. Your expertise will help elevate the governance and administration of employee expense programs and accounts payable across the US and UK entities.
Running cash positioning and treasury reporting will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the organization maintains a healthy financial position. You will coordinate with outsourced partners for monthly close and bookkeeping, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
Additionally, you will set up and administer finance tooling that aligns with the organization’s operational needs as it scales. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that financial operations are efficient and effective, supporting the company’s mission to build open superintelligence.
