Who you are

You have a strong background in sourcing and procurement, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Your expertise includes managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts to ensure the best outcomes for your organization. You are skilled in interpreting engineering drawings and BOMs, allowing you to effectively communicate technical requirements to suppliers. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are adept at managing multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on quality and cost efficiency. Your analytical skills enable you to forecast demand accurately and adjust supply signals accordingly, ensuring that production schedules are met without delays. You are a proactive communicator, capable of influencing decisions at all levels of the organization, from vendors to senior leadership.

Experience in the aerospace or satellite industry is a plus, as is familiarity with mechanical custom and COTS hardware. You understand the intricacies of supply chain management and have a track record of developing preferred supplier networks that minimize costs and lead times. Your ability to track high-risk components and supplier delivery performance will be crucial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior Sourcing Specialist at SpaceX, you will be responsible for managing the demand plan and sourcing for hardware used in the Starshield satellite constellation. You will place purchase orders and resolve any blocked invoices related to your assigned category, ensuring a smooth procurement process. Your role will involve forecasting demand, evaluating capacity, and managing supply signals to adjust incoming material as needed. You will track high-risk components and monitor supplier delivery performance to mitigate any potential disruptions to production. Clear and rapid communication will be essential as you influence decisions made by vendors and senior leadership alike. You will create sourcing strategies for all mechanical custom and COTS hardware, developing a preferred supplier network that leverages relationships to minimize costs and lead times for fabrication and delivery of parts. Your work will directly support the rate production in the satellite factory of the future, contributing to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars.
