Overview
Microsoft is seeking a Carbon Removal Buyer to join their Cloud Operations & Innovation team. You'll be responsible for procuring high-quality carbon removal projects to help achieve Microsoft's goal of becoming carbon negative by 2030. This role requires procurement experience in carbon or environmental markets.

Your commercial execution-oriented mindset allows you to navigate complex negotiations and shape innovative carbon removal opportunities. You are a curiosity-driven individual who thrives in collaborative environments, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive impactful projects. You understand the importance of sustainability and are passionate about contributing to Microsoft's ambitious goal of becoming carbon negative by 2030.
Desirable
Experience in negotiating transactions and originating high-quality carbon removal projects is a plus. Familiarity with environmental markets and a hands-on approach to deal-making will set you apart. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on achieving results.
What you'll do
As a Carbon Removal Buyer, you will join one of the existing deal teams responsible for procuring carbon removal projects. Your role will involve identifying high-quality projects, negotiating transactions, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful execution. You will be instrumental in shaping creative, first-of-a-kind deals that align with Microsoft's sustainability goals. Your ability to communicate effectively and build relationships will be key to your success in this role.
You will also be expected to stay informed about trends and developments in the carbon removal space, leveraging your knowledge to inform decision-making and strategy. Your contributions will directly impact Microsoft's efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices across the organization.
