SpaceX is seeking a Test Technician for their Environmental Test team to support satellite hardware testing. You'll work closely with engineers and utilize skills in mechanical disciplines and testing equipment. This role requires hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
You are an experienced test specialist with a strong affinity for multidisciplinary testing and problem-solving. You have a background in mechanical disciplines and are highly skilled in assembling, instrumenting, and testing satellite flight hardware throughout various development phases. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are self-motivated, flexible, and a quick learner. You enjoy working collaboratively with engineers and are adept at monitoring and assessing test asset performance throughout qualification campaigns.
Experience with space simulation test equipment such as Thermal, Thermal Vacuum, HASS/HALT, Vibration, and Shock is a plus. Familiarity with custom test racks and automated equipment interfaces will enhance your ability to increase test lab capability and unit test quality.
In this role, you will assemble, instrument, and test satellite flight hardware throughout development, production, and on-orbit correlation testing phases. You will monitor and assess test asset and test article performance throughout development and qualification campaigns. You will activate, evaluate, monitor, and maintain space simulation test equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Additionally, you will be responsible for the assembly, activation, and troubleshooting of custom test racks and automated equipment interfaces to enhance testing capabilities. You will also conduct structural test builds and executions for a variety of large- and small-scale structural and mechanical satellite components, collaborating closely with engineering teams to plan and activate tests effectively.
