AccuWeather is seeking a Storm Warning Meteorologist to provide hazardous weather forecasting and issue warnings for various sectors. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences and strong communication skills.
You are a dedicated meteorologist with a Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences. Your outstanding forecasting and communication skills enable you to effectively convey critical weather information to clients and the public. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are driven by the mission to save lives and protect property through accurate weather forecasting. Your attention to detail and ability to process meteorological data allow you to make swift, accurate warning decisions. You are a team player who collaborates professionally with other members of the forecasting team, ensuring that all hazardous weather situations are addressed promptly and effectively.
Experience with hazardous weather forecasting and issuing weather warnings is a plus. Familiarity with internal warning software and the ability to create customized, site-specific hazardous weather warnings will set you apart. Strong customer service skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines are essential for success in this role.
As a Storm Warning Meteorologist at AccuWeather, you will handle all types of hazardous weather forecasting, issuing warnings for major business, transportation, education, media, and government organizations. You will utilize internal warning software to create customized hazardous weather warnings, independent of government agencies. Your role will involve creating hazardous weather forecast graphics and customized text discussions for specialized clients across North America. Daily interaction with clients will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you help them make immediate operational weather-related decisions. You will also perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Severe Weather Center.
