Job Description

Do you want to change the way people watch TV? We are seeking an experienced Content Acquisition Specialist (CAM), to support content licensing for Prime Video in Korea. Prime Video is changing the way people watch movies and TV shows, offering thousands of new release movies, same-day television shows, classic favorites and the latest Amazon Originals, available to customers with an Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription. This includes popular and award-winning Amazon originals such as The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel, Fallout, Reacher, The Boys and Marry My Husband, all available for no additional charge.

Amazon is seeking a CAM, based in Seoul, to support Prime Video’s content acquisition efforts in Korean language content. The CAM role involves close collaboration with our Korean content partners & talent and internal teams, including our U.S. CAM, Finance, Operations, Creative, Marketing, PR, Social, Distribution, Legal and the global Programming teams. Given Prime Video’s planned investments in Korean content and the highly competitive streaming landscape, it is mission critical for Prime Video to build strong working relationships with content partners & talent, and successfully launch licensed titles, while delivering on customer delight and business outcomes.

Success in this role will require an ability to coordinate and align stakeholders, by working with our CAM team to building a strong financial and customer rationale for licensed content, through use of 1P & 3P data and insights. The candidate should possess experience of content licensing activities in Korea, including supporting licensing or commissioning Korean content, experience with studio & talent relationships, and delivering results for Korean media companies. Prior experience in a streaming video businesses is preferred. Writing and speaking proficiency in Korean & English languages is important for success in this role.

In addition to strong creative judgement, the ideal candidate is expected to be a critical thinker with keen attention to detail, an ability to juggle multiple priorities, and must not be afraid to get hands-on, as needed. The candidate must have an ability to think clearly, communicate concisely in written and verbal form, and a willingness to go beyond his/her direct sphere of responsibility to solve customer and business challenges.

Key job responsibilities
• Representing the CAM team and fostering strong working relationships with Korea-based content partners and talent
• Using creative judgement to advise on the selection of Korean content that will appeal to Prime Video’s global customers
• Organize and evaluate internal CAM processes, including supporting approvals, and supporting content publishing teams.
• Act as a liaison and ensure smooth communication between internal teams and Korean content partners & talent, to deliver stakeholder requirements in a timely manner.
• Provide content inputs through narrative writing across key business documents like the Weekly Business Reviews, Monthly Business Reviews etc.
• Organize and evaluate materials to help improve Prime Video’s efforts to launch licensed content and drive customer engagement.
• Facilitate the benchmarking of content selection and performance against 3P industry data and IC offerings.
• Understand Amazon’s core business values and leadership principles, and apply these in day to day processes.

About the team
The Content Acquisition (CAM) team in Prime Video (PV) SEA supports all content licensing for PV in SEA & MENA territories, besides acquiring Korean content for global PV customers. We are a small team, focused on efficient use of internal resources and understand the need to build strong content partner relationships, for achieving PV's long term goals.- 5+ years of account management, business development, content licensing or finance experience
- Knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google docs and sheets
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)- 5+ years of content acquisition or sync licensing experience
