Amazon Mexico is seeking a smart, self-motivated and creative individual for the role of PR Manager, working on Amazon devices and services, including Amazon Echo, Ring, Blink, Alexa, Kindle, Fire TV and Kuiper. The role will also be responsible for US Hispanic media outreach and strategy.
The role reports into a Senior PR Manager, and working with local PR agencies to manage launches, drive product/feature awareness through a rolling program of proactive media outreach, manage creative PR & influencer campaigns across owned, earned, paid, work closely with business and marketing teams, as well as day-to-day press office activity.
Able to work at internet-speed, you will be goal-orientated, have a track record of working on major creative PR campaigns, a high level of creativity and extensive experience in dealing with consumer and technology press.
Key job responsibilities
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
• Experience in professional communications or public relations
• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
• Managing proactive creative PR campaigns and delivering clear, results-focused reports linked back to business goals
• Working with external PR support to develop and implement proactive PR plans for devices and services
• Planning proactive product and software launches and delivering clear, results-focused reports linked back to pre-defined objectives
• Working with external PR support to develop and implement proactive PR plans
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key media contacts
• Successfully tackling complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree- A demonstrated feel for what works for a consumer technology brand
- Knowledgeable about media topics and trends in Mexico, with the ability to marry with our products and services for maximum PR benefit
- Proactive—enjoys taking responsibility and making things happen
- Desire to work with the media proactively to drive awareness of Amazon’s devices and services
- Creative—able to develop hooks/angles/campaigns that will be of interest to press
- Strong written and verbal communications skills (English and Spanish)
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to work hard and roll up sleeves to get work done, even when at times it is outside the scope of the job
- Adaptable and able to work in a corporate environment
- Able to inspire agencies to deliver
- Experience in developing successful executive thought leadership strategies for major brands
