Nuro is seeking a Senior/Staff Embedded Software Engineer to develop software for autonomous vehicle applications. You'll work with C programming and embedded Linux to ensure the safe operation of the Nuro Driver™. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
You have a strong background in embedded software development, particularly for autonomous vehicle applications. Your expertise in C programming is complemented by a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, concurrency, and algorithm design. You possess a good grasp of operating system internals, which allows you to navigate kernel or driver knowledge effectively. Your problem-solving and debugging skills are top-notch, enabling you to tackle complex challenges in software development. You are an excellent communicator and collaborator, capable of working closely with hardware, software, and system engineers to ensure the reliable operation of the Nuro Driver™. You hold a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in a relevant field, showcasing your commitment to your professional development.
In this role, you will develop embedded software for L2+ to L4 autonomous vehicle applications, focusing on core OS and base software, as well as middle-layer and application algorithm development. You will collaborate closely with hardware, software, and system engineers during the definition, design, and verification phases of product development, ensuring that the Nuro Driver™ operates safely and reliably. Your hands-on experience will be crucial as you participate in vehicle bring-up, prototyping, development, testing, and debugging across multiple vehicle platforms. You will also work closely with other Nuro autonomy software teams and vehicle OEMs/suppliers to integrate the Nuro Driver™ into various vehicle platforms, contributing to the advancement of self-driving technology.
