Location: (including hybrid): Tokyo, Japan

Kaluza reimagines energy to bring net-zero within everyone’s reach. The Kaluza Platform enables energy utilities to unlock the full value of a radically changing energy system and propel us to a future where renewable energy is sustainable, affordable and accessible for all.

From automating and simplifying core operations including billing to create a lower-cost, higher-engagement experience, to optimising energy usage across smart devices in the home, we turn tough challenges into win-win-win outcomes for customers, suppliers and the energy system.

Kaluza is currently in an exciting growth phase, undergoing the next phase of our international expansion in Japan to further reinforce our capabilities as a globally distributed energy platform.

This means that you would be one of the earliest Kaluza employees on the ground in Japan, working directly with our clients in the region.

We champion a flexible, hybrid work approach and we find that teams often benefit from coming together at least 2-3 days a week to foster connection and accelerate progress.

Outside of these collaborative opportunities, we aim to be as flexible as possible to balance work with life.

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You’ll be joining the Kaluza Product community. We’re a group of Product Managers and Leaders focused on translating complex needs into simple and innovative solutions that solve real customer and business problems.

What will I be doing?

  • Drive product execution and delivery by maintaining a prioritised product roadmap and partnering with internal and external stakeholders
  • Leading product solution design to localise the Kaluza platform for the Japan market
  • Collaborate with teams across Kaluza to adapt and expand their features for Kaluza
  • Define the right success metrics with an understanding of how this translates into value for the client
  • Monitor performance, influencing prioritisation of work to improve when necessary
  • Lead client workshops and engagement to achieve product solution and implementation success
  • Supporting a culture of open collaboration across Kaluza, client and third party colleagues
  • Using your influencing skills to bring wider business stakeholders on the journey with you

Is this the job for me?

Ideally you’ll have:

  • A passion for building great products to solve energy retailer pain points
  • Several years of versatile experience working as a product manager in the energy industry
  • An ability to tailor your communication style to the audience and simplify the complex in explanations
  • A problem-solving mindset and collaborative approach
  • Experience of working with product teams and developers in an agile environment
  • Skilled at translating business needs into technical requirements enabling engineering teams to develop solutions iteratively
  • Passionate about working with stakeholders across Kaluza and its clients to ensure high levels of engagement and knowledge sharing
  • Strong relationship-building skills both with clients and internal teams

Kaluza Values

Here at Kaluza we have five core values that guide us as a business:

We’re on a mission, We build together, We’re inclusive, We get it done, We communicate with purpose.

Our values are not words on a wall — they are at the heart of our culture. They are how we make decisions and how we treat each other. They are concrete and clear, and reflect what we as people, and as a business, really care about.

Kaluza’s vision is to power a world where net-zero is within everyone’s reach. Would you be interested in joining us to help achieve this?

From us you’ll get

We're just getting set up in Japan for the first time, so we'll build out our benefits over time.

We'll definitely enrol you in Employees’ Pension Insurance, and flexible working options from day 1.

We'll then build out our benefits and progressive policies over time to ensure your Total Reward package is highly competitive, and that you're well looked after.

We want the best people

We’re keen to meet people from all walks of life — our view is that the more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. We want to build teams which represent a variety of experiences, perspectives and skills, and we recognise talent on the basis of merit and potential.

We understand some people may not apply for jobs unless they tick every box. But if you're excited about joining us and think you have some of what we're looking for, even if you're not 100% sure, we'd still love to hear from you.
