Job Description

Who you are

You have hands-on experience developing C++ software for real-world systems — you enjoy solving complex problems and are motivated by the mission of enabling human life on Mars. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to bring fresh ideas from diverse backgrounds to the team. You understand the importance of building secure, reliable, and autonomous software systems and are committed to the entire software life cycle, including development, testing, and operational support.

Your problem-solving skills are complemented by a strong desire to make an impact on an inspiring mission, and you are excited about the opportunity to contribute to national security efforts through innovative technology.

Desirable

Experience in aerospace or related fields is a plus, but not required. A passion for space exploration and a willingness to learn and grow within the role will set you apart.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer on the Starshield team, you will be responsible for creating highly reliable in-space mesh networks and designing secure systems that guarantee access to space. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to build tools that enhance efficiency and support the development of software systems. Your role will involve engaging in the entire software development life cycle, ensuring that the software you create is robust and meets the high standards expected at SpaceX.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements. Your contributions will directly impact the success of the Starshield program, and you will have the opportunity to innovate and implement solutions that address real-world challenges. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
