Google is seeking a Network Implementation Engineer to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. You'll work with networking protocols and troubleshooting, focusing on optical transport and network infrastructure. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, or have equivalent practical experience. With at least 3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP, you have a solid understanding of system design operations methodology. Your background includes hands-on experience with network infrastructure operations or builds, particularly focusing on optical transport, dark and leased fiber, and cross-connects. You are well-versed in networking protocols and troubleshooting, with specific experience in troubleshooting DWDM systems, including DWDM topology and architecture.
You have experience working collaboratively with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment. Your understanding of network transport design, equipment, and infrastructure is complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are eager to be the initial point of our efforts to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide.
Experience in one or more of the following disciplines is preferred: Layer 1 optical transmission systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations. You thrive in environments where you can facilitate faster, better, and more efficient outcomes for the business and customers.
As a Network Implementation Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for executing the deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks globally. You will collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors. Your role will involve building relationships with internal partners and vendors to foster collaboration and improve delivery through cycle time reduction.
You will apply statistical process control to continuously improve the team’s performance against speed and quality. Your objective will be to build the world’s most reliable and cost-effective networks, ensuring that all deployments meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You will also be involved in developing measurement systems for your organization, which will help in tracking performance and identifying areas for improvement.
