Overview

Microsoft is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to deliver core electrical engineering expertise for data center infrastructure. You'll collaborate with various teams to develop designs and manage complex electrical systems. This role requires significant experience in electrical engineering.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in managing and coordinating complex electrical systems for large-scale projects. Your expertise enables you to provide key technical input to architectural engineering firms and internal stakeholders, ensuring the design and construction of best-in-class infrastructure. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with global teams to develop data center designs from the Basis of Design to the final construction phase.

You are committed to fostering an inclusive work environment, aligning with Microsoft’s values. You understand the importance of backup power systems and power distribution systems in data centers, and you are passionate about contributing to the development of cloud and AI technologies.

Desirable

Experience with data center construction and lease projects is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest electrical engineering technologies and practices. You are proactive in seeking out innovative solutions to engineering challenges and are eager to stay updated on industry trends.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering core electrical engineering expertise to support the design and construction of data centers. You will collaborate with the Global Technical Excellence team and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive designs that meet operational requirements. Your responsibilities will include managing the delivery of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards, and coordinating with various teams throughout the construction process.

You will play a key role in reviewing and approving designs, providing technical guidance, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Your ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot issues will be essential in maintaining the integrity of electrical systems throughout the project lifecycle. You will also be involved in the construction administration phase, ensuring that all work aligns with the established designs and specifications.
