Amazon is seeking a passionate, talented, and inventive senior Research Engineer with a robust background in AI/machine learning to join our AWS Computer Vision science team. Based in Haifa or Tel Aviv, you’ll be instrumental in advancing technology in Computer Vision, Generative AI, and foundational models. As a key member of the Amazon AWS Bedrock AI science team, your work will directly impact millions by developing algorithms that optimize foundational model inference engines. Your role involves leading software component design, developing evaluation frameworks, and optimizing deep learning models within AWS’s production environment. Key job responsibilities
A senior research engineer in AWS Computer Vision research team has the following responsibilities:
- Design and build reference architectures, or train/optimize models that enable science experimentation on complex problems with unknown definition and solution pipelines
- Design and guide the science team's implementation, enabling Science POC that help decide the ultimate science solution strategy, algorithm workflow, and the individual science components that become a release candidate
- Drive best practices in team [code, packaging, compute, deliveries]. Advise and drive implementation for research projects and act as a bridge between science and engineering for eventual productization of new algorithms
- Handle and implement research code for training and evaluation, apply and adapt known science methods- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in AI/ML fields such as Computer Vision, Generative AI, NLP, or foundational models.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and familiarity with cloud-based computing platforms.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and coding skills (e.g., Python, C++, or Java).- Experience in developing agents and working with multimodal large language models and foundation models.
- Experience designing and leading complex research projects from ideation to implementation.
- Understanding of model optimization, and algorithm development.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Research publications in peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
